About the Science Forum

Each year since 1996, the FDA has coordinated the Science Forum as a comprehensive training program to communicate and promote issues relating to scientific development and associated regulatory concerns. The annual FDA Science Forum showcases FDA’s scientific achievements, presents discussions on topics of interest to FDA and its stakeholders, promotes internal and external collaborations, and recognizes outstanding research and science-based review performance.

Open to a global audience via this Internet presentation, the 2003 Forum is designed to bring FDA scientists together with representatives from other components of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), industry, academia, government agencies, consumer and patient advocacy groups, Congress, international constituents, and many more stakeholders throughout the world. This gathering offers a wealth of opportunity and exposure for academia and industry to learn about FDA research, collaboration opportunities, and regulatory priorities.

The 2003 Science Forum brought together a record 1,800 delegates. The internet broadcasts (both traditional and broadband) add a new and exciting dimension to the forum and make its proceedings available to a worldwide audience as a resource and reference, creating a virtual memory of the meeting and extending its potential.

The FDA Science Forum Internet Broadcast is open to all those interested in learning more about FDA's multi-faceted scientific approach to many diverse public health issues.
