Welcome
Inaugurated in 1993, the FDA Science Forum is a unique annual conference where FDA scientists meet with representatives from industry, academia and government to present and discuss how emerging science and technology can be effectively applied to support the FDA’s mission: the advancement and protection of public health. In honor of the FDA's Centennial, this year’s Forum, entitled “FDA Science Forum 2006, A Century of FDA Science: Pioneering the Future of Public Health”, will seek to renew the Agency’s commitment to regulatory science, to communicate advances made over the past century and to explore how the original commitment will translate into the future of science at FDA. In addition to plenary sessions focused on innovation and public health preparedness and managing change at FDA, 23 general sessions will be offered by top experts, including topics ranging from epidemiology, such as preparing for and preventing a modern plague, to bioinformatics and other innovations in the field of drug discovery and medicine. The Forum also offers a poster session, which last year boasted over 450 posters, and a lay public session.
