|
Chair: F. Montorsi, Milan (IT)

Aims and objectives: The objectives of the course are to provide the principles of writing the two key types of publication: the review article and the clinical study report. Specifically covered will be how to decide whether you should actually publish your data and how to choose the most suitable journal once that decision is made. The ‘How to do it’ for a scientific paper will represent the core of the course. This will be illustrated with case studies on each aspect of the paper with a workshop style discussion with attendees. How to use references in your article and the different options for easy referencing will also be discussed. The tips and tricks section will provide ‘insider’ information to help in your writing. Finally, we all have to deal with reviewer’s comments and information will be presented on how this should be carried out to best advantage. Attendees are expected to leave the course with a full knowledge of the fundamental requirements to be successful in having a scientific paper accepted by a major journal.
